The customer service is subpar, and yes they charge and charge again for no real product or service and no methods for eliminating the headache of unauthorized charges from past customers. The site layout seems easy enough to navigate, but it is very difficult to make the program work due to the lack of options and curriculum goals for instance. However, the information is outdated, repetitive(not in a positive manner, but literally repeat assignments - NOT 180 days of learning!), and inaccessible many times. Now, they charged my card the $99 again, after one year of not only no activity but no account from which to have activity!I thoroughly believe the intent of Discovery K12 was good at one point in time. I finally gave up on the site, and never received a refund though I tried, and as I previously stated, I unenrolled my son from the program. Literally, nothing changes except being able to see grades and make transcripts which I could NEVER get to actually work. So I decided, against my better judgment, to purchase the *** account so I could gain access to all of the great features DK12 apparently has.but there are none. I initially thought the program was ok but I started realizing there was much I could not control, view about my son's progress, or interact with any grades/worksheets/sites/etc. I'm not sure I'd suggest it to someone just starting homeschooling.Same Issue - I not only enrolled him in another program, but I emailed support and unenrolled him from DK12, which took some wrestling to get accomplished. but something feels shifted in the wrong direction.Īt this level, it's still going to need plenty of parental involvement. ![]() spelling is word list (look up word with online dictionary, copy the definition, ) lots of it feels more about "get them using technology as quick as possible even if you don't have the basics down with paper". ![]() ![]() so far the grammar is read some slides but no assignments on it. the art (so far) is to learn how to use GIMP. a little later they are writing plot summary.įor social studies and science, they are expected to make a power point presentation of what they learned (this is in first week?). (intro your topic, state your opinion, state why. within first week optional writing assignments are typing 3-5 paragraph essays on the reading of their choice.
